Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links
Originally home to the Jameson Family, celebrated for their Irish Whiskey, Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links is now an international hotel, situated on the shoreline of a rugged peninsula jutting out into the Irish Sea and home to a magnificent 18-hole championship links.
The Links Portmarnock, designed by Bernhard Langer, opened for play in 1995. It was fitting that Langer chose this magnificent setting to design his first links course, being a three-time winner of the Irish Open at nearby Portmarnock Golf Club and the Royal Dublin Golf Club. Together with architect Stan Eby, he designed a course that is a challenge for all golfers. Set in the grounds of the old Jameson Estate of St Marnocks, the course has played host to professional and amateur events, including 2008 and 2009 Ladies Irish Open. Following a recent refurbishment programme, the hotel is now more welcoming than ever. And, given its beautiful setting, it’s hard to believe that Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links is just 20 minutes from Dublin’s city centre and only a 10-minute drive from Dublin airport.
